Can’t we all just get along? Note – this was written before the announcement that Unai Emery will be our new manager. However, the sentiment expressed still stands. So, even though Unai Emery (the former PSG boss) is now in the frame, Arteta is still the favourite, seemingly. With widespread reservations on Arteta’s supposed imminent […]
In this series of articles I have been looking at some of the favourites to be the next head coach of Arsenal, looking into the tactics and players they may fit into side should they join. In this final part we look at a late entry to the list Unai Emery, the Spaniard who is […]
Holidays are a weird thing aren’t they? You look forward to them for months, away from the stress of real life and work and putting the bins out. But when you get here you lie down for an hour by the pool and worry that you are wasting your time and start thinking about what […]
**** Newsflash **** Arsenal’s new coach to be announced imminently!!!! I met my mate down the pub last night and he said that he was told by his step brother’s second cousin’s dog sitter’s milkman’s ex-wife, that Arteta will definitely be the next Arsenal manager. His source said that the board felt that after […]
For the past 22 years, Arsenal like any other team in the world had some pre-season challenges to tackle while awaiting the start of the regular season. However, amongst all these challenges, there is one challenge the team never faced for the past 22 years i.e. searching for a new manager. Arsenal is sailing in […]
We now appear to be on the cusp of the Mikel Arteta era. Though the appointment of the Spaniard has not been confirmed, rumour is gathering pace aplenty. Apparently the players have covertly taken control of the team, as, in their words, “we need more help from the […]
Not “If”, but “When” Nobody can say for sure when Wenger will leave Arsenal -except Arséne himself, of course – but the beleaguered manager has to go eventually. Surely? Most, it would seem, would prefer sooner rather than later. A bigger question might be: who is going to replace him? Events this summer indicate […]
It seems as if Alexis Sanchez’s impending transfer to Manchester United is not a matter of “if” but “when.” The name being bandied about as makeweight in the deal is one Henrikh Mkhitaryan. It’s far from a given that the Armenian will join, but reliable sources seem to think a deal is close. Arsenal’s recent […]
It’s October 19, 2016, and Arsenal is facing Ludogorets in the Champions League group stage. Yeah, that game where Ozil gets the hat-trick. Arsenal is in form, having won its last 6 matches, including the first 2 in the group, and is facing a team at the Emirates that has only one Champions League victory […]
