When you can’t see great An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective I am a blessed man. Feeling very blessed. I think those are two different things. If there is one emotion in my life that I can’t shake, it’s that. I offer thanks at least twice in the day. Not just for the […]
Creativity, Simplicity and Determination An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective Not quite a game of two halves but we certainly saw two different things. The first 39 minutes were mostly frustrating. Not through lack of effort or an unwillingness to follow instruction. I found them to be risk free. As if we felt that […]
Creation 1 Denial 3 An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective This game was an odd one. It seemed like we were playing ourselves. Leicester are so predictable. Played the same way in the same formation for so long. Coming up against a team that has a smart coach with a smart backroom team killed […]
Actually, unsurprising An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective A derby is supposed to be where form goes out the window. A different type of event where no excuses are expected. You just show up give your best and win. If you want to go back into your slump afterwards, then fine, but it’s a […]

It’s a time to hold your loved ones close, and to reflect on all of the things you are thankful for in your life. I, for one, am thankful that Arsenal […]
‘Almost all of them’ An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective So, football is a simple game. You just pass the ball 1000 times and tell your players to take turns being brilliant. Odegaard, your turn. Simple. The game yesterday seemed like that paragraph. Somebody had to step up and Odegaard did. All of these […]
‘When you read the book from the beginning’ An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective I want to start with an admission. I have barely looked at the Premier League table for many many years. My doctor had asked me what I thought was raising my blood pressure because I am a calm guy. I […]
Time to declare An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective. As you read this, you are reading the fourth rewrite of this opening paragraph. I have been tempted to write about what you are about to read for a while, but have resisted until I was sure. I wasn’t thinking that yesterday‘s game would be […]
