Away Day Toon Despair – ‘Disgusting’ Mustafi scrapes a ‘1’ In Player Ratings
Arsenal lost their 11th game of the campaign, their 9th away from home as their search for an away point in 2018 continued. The London side took the lead through Alex Lacazette before goals either side of half time from Ayoze Perez and Matt Ritchie saw Arsenal lose on the road again, below are some […]
Strengthening the Arsenal Squad Part 4 – Forward
Déjà vu. Groundhog Day. A season supporting Arsenal football club. Nothing ever seems to change with our club, as we slowly slowly slide down the pole of mediocrity. What we thought would be an improved season after the first year of missing out on a top four place in 20 0dd years has rather turned […]
Despite early promise from the PEA/Laca combo, Wenger failed to get a Toon from his team.
This was another poor performance. We couldn’t get a Toon from the team today….. It seems there is something telling about our away form, certainly vis a vis our home form. I was hoping we could win this game. But then such hope was misguided, apparently. The thing is we started well. PEA and […]
It’s Mo or nothing: can Elneny become the surprise provider for the Gunners? – Newcastle preview
We are off to Newcastle today and the one stat that caught my eye was the following: we haven’t lost five consecutive away games since 1925. As it stands, we are on a run of four successive losses on the road. Our recent home form made the situation look better than it is. Five straight […]
Might we see Welbz, Laca and Auba together in the Premier? – Toon v Gunners Preview
Newcastle vs. Arsenal preview Premier League With the CSKA Moscow win, and the Atletico Madrid draw in the Europa League, we move onto the Toon on Sunday 15th April. Benitez is a manager of pedigree, having done something that Wenger hasn’t in fairness (win the Champions League). Nonetheless, he and Wenger have had numerous battles […]
Strengthening the Arsenal Squad Part 3 – The Midfield
Déjà vu. Groundhog Day. A season supporting Arsenal football club. Nothing ever seems to change with our club, as we slowly slowly slide down the pole of mediocrity. What we thought would be an improved season after the first year of missing out on a top four place in 20 0dd years has rather […]
THE BIG QUESTION; AARON OR JACK?
THE BIG QUESTION; AARON OR JACK? The story always has been one that fascinated and showed how early on in his reign, the allure of Arsene Wenger’s person held sway over several young footballers. In 2008, Aaron Ramsey whose father was a huge Manchester United fan seemed to have signed for Alex Ferguson’s side, with […]
Strengthening the Arsenal Squad Part 2 – Central Defence
Déjà vu. Groundhog Day. A season supporting Arsenal football club. Nothing ever seems to change with our club, as we slowly slowly slide down the pole of mediocrity. What we thought would be an improved season after the first year of missing out on a top four place in 20-odd years has rather turned out […]
Nervy draw in Moscow sees Arsenal through- Player Ratings
GT It wasn’t the best of performances in Moscow, but Arsenal survived a Moscow onslaught to reach the Europa League semi-finals thanks to goals from Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey, here are some player ratings from Moscow. Petr Cech- 5, Cech was arguably at fault for both of their goals, pushing it straight to […]
