Our Performance v City – ‘It was a great big turd, polished and steaming’
I think I won’t make much of a mistake if I say our Sunday game has produced only two positives: we have almost guaranteed 3rd (provided we avoid defeat in the last match) and Giroud had a good game, one which was long overdue for the Frenchman. Actually, thanks to Southampton, we even retain a […]
Buy Griezmann to keep Ozil – Your mission should you choose to accept it Arsene
Two things need to happen this summer; we need to keep Mesut Ozil and get Antoine Griezmann. We all know and cringe when we remember what happened in the summer of 2014-with the whole Luis Suarez debacle, that cannot happen again. Last season we were told there was no top striker available, this summer there […]
Jack Wilshere may be a surprise starter at the Etihad – MCFC v AFC
Hello everyone. It’s Manchester City we face this weekend and, while our recent displays hardly fill me with confidence of any kind, there are nonetheless two circumstances which make me feel slightly better going into this game: City are a big team and they have been even more crap than we’ve been in the […]
Every Gamble Wenger took with our season failed to pay out – Fail to Plan = Plan to Fail
2015/2016 – A Season that Ended so Familiarly Before it Began In the end you do not buy to give one hope, you want to buy because the players who come in can help your squad to be stronger. Buying and selling is one way to strengthen your team, but that is not the only way. […]
Like a child I just want my team to win – a passionate plea for Gooner unity
What does football mean? What does it mean when you say you support a team till the end? What does one want to get out of the exercise of supporting a football team? What do we expect in return from the club, now that the days of local fans running into their football heroes at […]
Arsenal must win and prevent the Blue Moon Rising from the Fourth
The last time we played Manchester City, it was a game that looked like a defining moment of the title race. We had been consistent until then and, with Chelsea’s collapse, taking on the title favourites at home with a squad decimated by injuries. We claimed a fantastic victory but the title challenge that so […]
It ain’t over yet: this season is gonna get REAL crazy!
Leicester may have finally achieved the unimaginable, and clinched the Barclays Premier League Title for 2015/16 – but I have a sneaky suspicion that there is more craziness to come in this lunatic season. And – as usual – Arsenal has a huge role to play. The game against Manchester City at the Etihad this Sunday […]
The Berlin Wall to Colour TVs, a lot can happen in 55 years – But one thing NEVER does.
Since 1961 many things have happened. 1961: The Berlin Wall was built. 1962 : Marilyn Monroe was murdered, sorry, died. 1963: Martin Luther King Jr, had a dream. 1964: Mohammed Ali won his first heavyweight boxing title. 1965: Malcolm X was assassinated 1966: England won the World Cup (& Jules Rimet is still gleaming) […]
We won the League at White Hart Lane – 45 Years Ago today
45 Year ago today Arsenal won the league at the home of their arch North London rivals Tottenham. In a superb article originally posted on our sister site 1ND2OU in November 2012 Gary Lawrence relives the day…… The year was 1971 The Beatles had recently officially split up, decimalisation had arrived, Ali was getting it […]
How can the Media ridicule ‘Time of Change’ Protest whilst simultaneously Ridiculing Wenger?
I completely agree with The Tzar Alex Baguzin in his article “On all the things Wenger got wrong yesterday” Please read the article if you have not already done so. I find it incomprehensible how the media can make light of the protest by calling it a waste of time and then go on to […]
