Mattia Perin on Wenger’s Wishlist says Agent

The rumours that Arsenal are in the market for a new goalkeeper rumble on, as the agent of an Italian ‘keeper has today claimed that Arsene Wenger is keen to sign his client.

Mattia Perin, of Genoa, is spending this campaign on loan at Pescara who were promoted to Serie A last season. His impressive displays have drawn interest from several of Europe’s top clubs, a fact that caused his parent club to negotiate a new deal for the young stopper, that runs until 2017.

In spite of this the player’s representative, Matteo Roggi, has claimed that Arsene Wenger is keen on bringing the player to The Emirates to provide competition for Wojciech Szczesny. Roggi told Sky Sports: “There are many clubs interested in him: Arsenal, Barcelona, AC Milan. It has also been said about Juventus, Napoli and Roma.”

He also said that, while Perscara is “99 percent” likely to be at Genoa next season, his future lies away from the Italian side. In order for Arsenal to lure the ‘keeper away, Roggi said that Wenger would have to meet his €20million price tag.

With Arsenal once more linked to Stoke City‘s Asmir Begovic this week, it appears that movement for a new goalkeeper is something that the north London club desire.
