Arsenal vs. WBA
Premier League – 25th September 2017
Emirates Stadium

The New 3 Musketeers?
So a prodigal son, as it were, of Mr. Kieran Gibbs may be returning. I have nothing against him, he did his part but in the end it wasn’t good enough.
However, Pulis comes with his WBA team, and most likely will try to get a similar performance to last year, and several years before that. He will come, most possibly, to frustrate, contain, and stifle us.
It’s up to us, however, to stop him doing this.
To be fair, we did last season, with a goal from Giroud. But then that was then, and this is now.
Though I think we need to utilise the best of our flair, and midfield strength, to ensure we get the win.

Weird huh?
Alexis/Lacazette/Ozil
All three if fit should start here and amazingly, if they do it will be the first time, I believe, that all 3 will have been on the pitch together. Certainly The Baggies won’t be used to this combination used concurrently and as Arsenal fans I am sure we are all excited to see these ‘Three Musketeers’ in action, even if it is only for this season.
If all three are on their game, and we have not truly seen that from Alexis yet, the combination could be thrilling. I hope to see the three, but particularly the Frenchman and the Chilean interchanging roles and it will be intriguing to see if the chemistry is there from the get go.

Hoping for Chemistry and interchange
Giroud is an option, though the likes of Evans would welcome him more so than Lacazette. Evans would be a welcome player for me at Arsenal, incidentally.
Ramsey/Xhaka
This combination needs to be prolonged, or at least a midfield combining strength, creativity, pressing, and containment. This is what worked at Chelsea, and even if Elneny plays here, he needs to deploy the same methods.

A blossoming partnership
Kolasinac/Bellerin
I suspect that both will play in the wing-back positions. Though Maitland-Niles in one of these spots would be good to see.
Nelson
If Alexis comes off, or Ozil later in the game, Nelson is primed for this role. Let’s see him, in a Premier League game, do his stuff.
Reversion to a back-four?
I don’t see why we should. Our issues are more organisational and mental than formation-based. Whilst the back-three is not new, possibly the chance to learn and master a new formation is having a positive effect. There is clearly a placebo effect, despite it being nearly six months old in operation.
My team:
Cech,
Koscileny, Mustafi, Monreal
Bellerin, Ramsey, Xhaka, Kolasinac
Ozil, Sanchez
Lacazette
RESULT
Arsenal 2-0 West Bromwich Albion
If we’re resolute and can withstand their physicality, we can get very positive result here.= We need to after all the other top sides have won before we play.

I agree that we should have went for Evans. He has been superb for N. Ireland and before the Euros, I suggested that we should get him. I still recall the derision from some Gooners, but he was arguably the best C. Back in the Euros.
N. Ireland are currently ranked 24 in the world and that from a population less than Birmingham. The main reason is the W. Brom defence of McCauley Evans and Brunt.
