Exclusive expert opinion on, Arsenal linked Everton Soares.
Arsenal football club have been linked with many players so far this summer and it is no secret that Emery is in the market for a winger, with the pursuit of Wilfred Zaha being played out in the media. Crystal Palace seem to playing hardball asking for big money for the Ivory Coast international so the Gunners appear to be mulling over alternatives.
All this has created a perfect storm for Brazilian international Everton, who gave a starring performance for the national team at the Copa America, helping them lift the trophy.
According to reports from Brazil ,Arsenal now seem in pole position to take advantage of new Technical director, Edu Gaspar’s links to Brazil and capture Everton , with bids rumoured to be anything from £40-70 million.
With Everton increasingly gaining comparisons to former Gunner Alexis Sanchez I spoke to Brazil’s Head Researcher for Football Manager and Former Sky Sports correspondent, Paulo Freitas.
JH: Arsenal are currently being heavily linked with Everton Soares, who for many fans he is a new name. Can you please tell us what kind of player he is?
PF: Everton plays mainly as a left-winger; he has good technique, dribbling and speed, and likes to cut inside before finishing, as he showed during Copa América, where he finished as the competition’s top scorer and one of the best players.
JH: Everton has not always been a headline attraction at Gremio so what do you think it was that took him to the next level?
PF: Everton used to be a bench warmer at Grêmio, his improvement in 2018 and now in 2019 was directed by Grêmio, they specifically tried to improve his physical condition and mentality, as well as his finishing and dribbling abilities. Once he had a chance to become a starter, he was then quickly able to become a key player for the team.
JH: The Premier league is known for its physical nature, do you think Everton could fit in such surroundings considering his slight frame?
PF: I believe he can deal with the Premier League physical nature fine; he is physically stronger than he looks, and the Premier League is in any case more than just a league for physically strong players.
JH: Finally, considering Arsenal are being linked with the Gremio man, what is the view on the deal and news from Brazil right now?
PF: In Brazil there is little doubt he will not stay long at Grêmio, especially after his recent performance in Copa América, a move to Arsenal is not taken for granted yet, although they are increasingly being regarded as the favourites to sign him.

I got into football as a kid watching Italian football in the afternoons and ever since I’ve been hooked on tactics and the continental side of the game. I’ve written about Italian football in the past among other things but now it’s time to write about, the embodiment of how I see the beautiful game, Arsenal. Hopefully writing things and opinions about the game you haven’t seen before, I like a bit of a joke too.
Let’s hope if he passes his medical and comes to Arsenal, he’s a success and helps us score many goals. Just want to say in advance “Welcome to Arsenal”
