Seven consecutive games with his name on the scoresheet, that’s quite an achievement for Joe Willock. If there’s one ideal example of a perfect loan deal, it has to be Joe Willock’s stint at St. James’s Park.…and that is why we should be selling him. When he left for Newcastle, Joe Willock was a peripheral figure in […]
So the season has (domestically) drawn to a close, Arsenal ended the season in 8th place in the end. Certainly not a finishing position we would have expected at the start of the season but here we are. I often highlight the impact the pandemic played as part in this outcome and it’s definitely a […]
Small happy, bigger frustration POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES Perhaps I’m overthinking this as the answer to my frustrations could be so very simple. It’s the last game and the pressures off, right? The players would rather have not played in the Conference league, I’m sure. But…. Why were so many of our season long problems […]
The 4 Minute Rebellion POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES I might be reaching here. Could be wrong. I’m happy to say this as it’s truth. Watching the game yesterday something jumped off the screen at me. We had spent 90 minutes trying to execute Arteta’s passing patterns. We then binned them. Then we won. It’s also […]
Arteta’s conventional 3-4-3 vs the hybrid 3-4-3 Guardiola, Klopp, Rodgers, Solskjaer, Bielsa and now Tuchel; a list of impressive managers who have come up short against Arteta. Whilst it’s been a horrendous season for the Spaniard, he once again showed his capabilities in setting a team up accordingly to nullify one of the top teams […]
It’s fair to say that the 2020-21 season has been one of the worst in Arsenal’s modern history. Not only are the Gunners out of the Europa League, but three of their biggest rivals will line up in European finals at the end of the campaign. Aside from Manchester United, who play Unai Emery’s Villarreal […]
Little Lucky Winks Back POSITIVES, NEEDS AND HOPES Amongst the wash of badness that Arsenal have been this season, Arsenal have also been unlucky. Perhaps all teams are as unlucky as us? I don’t pay close enough attention to all of them to know. I can say however, that I can’t remember a season being […]
The saying goes, “It may get worse before it gets better, but it will get better.” Towards the end of Wenger’s reign, the majority of Arsenal fans weren’t naïve to the fact that things may have to ‘get worse’ before the glory days returned, but there was a general belief that they would return […]
A little glimpse, but not enough POSITIVES,NEEDS and HOPES There was so much about yesterday that could’ve been better. Happier. Perhaps, hopeful. I was trying to feel more excited but couldn’t fake it. All 3 goals were ordinarily seat jumpers but my son and I only managed a token fist pump. Perhaps like you, I […]
Despite the fact that this was a poor Newcastle side, it was integral that Arsenal would go into their season-defining game against Villareal with a positive mindset and the performance provided on Tyneside was definitely required. In this piece, an analysis of Arsenal’s win against the Magpies is discussed. In possession In the absence of […]
