Well, who didn’t see it coming?
Robin van Persie has decided not to renew his contract with Arsenal, leaving him with a year left on his contract before he can move on as a free agent.
But I’m not here to whine about Van Persie abandoning us, you can read hundred of articles about that wherever you want, I’m here to tell you about a very special player, a player that with the right guidance and hardwork could be an RvP replacement, I’m talking about Robert Lewandowski.
The star man has it all, from perfect timed runs into the box too climbing higher than the Eifel Tower to header it home, he is a great talent that doesn’t get the recognition that he deserves.
The big pole started his career in the Polish 3rd Division, before moving onto Lech Poznań for 1.5 Million zlotys. In the summer of 2010 Lewandowski made a huge step-up and got the move he deserved to Borussia Dortmund.
He didn’t have much of an impact in the first season, with Lucas Barrios smashing them in, but in his second year he made a name for himself. He was named Bundesliga player of the year and ended as the third top-scorer with 22 goals, a remarkable rise from where he was just a few years before.
Now I have watched Lewandowski a few times this year and he seems the real deal, even if he doesn’t score in a game, he still has a great impact on how the team plays. Standing at 6ft 2in, he has the height to win any battle in the air and it gives a great advantage to the team, his build up play is superb with clever runs through the box Shinji Kagawa would happily play him through.
Lewandowski has the same height as Robin van Persie but his advantage is that he scored a lot with his head, something RvP does not do often. He would bring the same great build up play that Arsenal rely on RvP to do, and his finishing is near perfect as he showed last season, he may bring the same side of the game that RvP brings, but, Lewandowski is still young but he does have two seasons under his belt, he doesn’t lack experience at all.
He’s the true definition of a poacher, as you can see by the goals he has scored this season he finds himself in the right place at the right time over and over again. Lewandowski has also shown a great close control as well in the Bundesliga last season and that’s why I see him as the perfect striker.
He has recently stated his desire to move to the premier league, Manchester United and Arsenal look like the main destinations, Wenger may need to break the bank to land him, but won’t he be worth it.

Hi, the problem about Lewandowski is, that Dortmund don't want to sell him, because they lost Kagawa this season to Manchester United and they don't need the money.
So at the earliest they will sell him next season (if he doesn't sign a new contract). Furthermore it seams, that his agents exert bad influence (he only wants more money and I think he never stated, that he wants to go to the BPL), because they said they want more money from BVB. So it is possible that he joins for example Bayern Munich, which are huge fans from the pole.
Hi, a player can ignore or even sack his manager if the manager tend to stand on his way to realising his dream.Lewandowski is a great player and you forget to mention the fact that he's a right footed striker. That is another missing ingredient in our current forward line up. If we want him, we will get him is all up to our desire to get Lewandowski. He will be a perfect replacement for RVP.
