No Intensity at the Beach This opening thought is probably utter nonsense. It is not reactionary though as I’ve waited half a day to process what I saw at the Emirates yesterday. Trying to make sense of the attitude towards the game is what rattled me as much as the unexpected scoreline. My wife and […]
Killing yourself trying not to get killed POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES Football has trends. It always has. When I was younger the trend was 4-4-2 with a tall target man and a penalty box striker. When the Premier League came along and Arsene Wenger showed up we introduced the trend of short passing and high […]
27th of November, 2021. Arsenal found themselves facing off against Newcastle at the Emirates, coming off the back of a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool. The Gunners had to ensure a win to bounce back from their Anfield thrashing ahead of a crunch away fixture against Manchester United, and while Bukayo Saka had […]
While wallowing in the heartbreak from the defeat to Manchester City, I decided to distract myself by picking up a book and reading Phil Jackson’s Eleven Rings: The Soul to Success. For those unfamiliar with Phil Jackson, he holds the NBA record for the most NBA championships as a player and coach – famously known […]
The January transfer window is now open! With Liverpool somehow getting the EFL to wrap around their finger and postpone the match against Arsenal we can sit and complain or open up a can of fruit and get into a juicy special. Transfer rumours. Oh how I love them. The best and worst time of […]
Gidday fellas! Round 2 for me on Gunners Town with a piece on Granit Xhaka after an absolute belter of a match for the Arsenal against City at the Emirates. If you were at the game, cheers to you. What a cracker of an atmosphere. The fans nailed the support for our young lads in […]
Lacazette is Marmite to Arsenal fans. Some point out how he has played an instrumental part in all of Arsenal’s recent resurgences, as a vital cog around which our youngsters spin; others are eager to brand him as an ineffective and wasteful striker. Both camps, as is generally true in this Age Of Divisiveness And […]
Calling back the Bank POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES Rewind back to August. There were concerns everywhere but arguably the greatest concern was where the goals were going to come from. We hadn’t scored and didn’t look much like we were interested in that rather important part of the sport. Arteta openly challenged his young forwards […]
A Shameless Robbery POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES Sometimes it’s hard to not listen to the Arsenal Vision post match instant reaction before I write these posts. I’m a fan of their work and it’s my personal post match pub. Today I had a drive home from an actual pub and so I couldn’t resist. We […]
It would be impossible to label Arsenal’s performance at Everton as anything other than ‘limp’ and that might be considered generous. Whilst much of the Arsenal fanbase might lay the blame for the team’s lack ambition, particularly when his team takes the lead, at Mikel Arteta’s door, there is no evidence the Spaniard is […]
